Thief who stole 8.5 million arrested in Astrakhan

Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing 8.5 million rubles from a bank in Astrakhan Oblast.

The suspect, a 30-year-old resident of the Akhtubinsky District, was detained on Thursday in Akhtubinsk.

Police said the man had confessed to the crime and told them where he had hidden the stolen money.

The money has been recovered and returned to the bank.

The suspect is now in custody and faces charges of theft.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
