Practical Magic 2 is officially in the works!
The long-awaited sequel to the 1990s cult classic is finally happening, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman returning as producers.
The news was shared in a June 10 TikTok video by Variety. According to the report, Practical Magic 2 is currently in development and will be produced by Bullock and Kidman's production companies, Fortis Films and Blossom Films, respectively.
Practical Magic, released in 1998, is based on the novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman. The film follows the story of two witch sisters, Sally and Gillian Owens, who must break a curse that has plagued their family for centuries. The film starred Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest.
The sequel has been in the works for several years, with Bullock and Kidman expressing interest in reprising their roles. In a 2018 interview, Bullock said, "I would love to do a Practical Magic sequel. I think it would be so much fun." Kidman has also said that she is "open" to the idea of a sequel.
