Suspected drunk driver responsible for deadly crash
BREAKING NEWS: Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau has tragically lost his life in a car accident in New Jersey. The crash occurred on Route 80 in Denville just before 3:00 AM on Thursday, July 13th, officials confirmed.
According to preliminary reports, Gaudreau was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with another car driven by a suspected drunk driver. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office has identified the suspect as 24-year-old Sean Toomey of Randolph, New Jersey. Toomey has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.
Gaudreau, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle he was traveling in, identified as his agent Lewis Gross, was seriously injured and transported to Morristown Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
